ITINERARY DETAIL

Pick up at your hotel and then depart to visit the "Lemur's park", which is a private reserve of lemurs located 25km from Antananarivo. The purpose is based on the nature conservation and this private reserve is working closely with the Malagasy Ministry of Water and Forests to preserve species of fauna and flora in order to reintroduce them into the wild. The park is home to nine species of diurnal and nocturnal lemurs live in a 5-hectare wooded environment of more than 70 plant species of which 40 species are endemic to Madagascar. Lemurs can then feed on leaves or insects, in addition to fruits and vegetables that are given their as complements and since 2001, it was found that more than 11,000 trees have been planted. Lemur, which is the symbol of the endemic fauna of Madagascar, is a unique mammal. A lemur group can be composed of 3 to 12 individuals. It is quite possible to see in this park baby lemur in September and in October precisely at the beginning of the rainy season. Generally, the lemurs gives birth only 1 baby lemur after a period of about 120 days of gestation. After the tour, drive back to Antananarivo then towards the traditional “Digue” market to buy some souvenirs. Many shops and craft workshops are located in the city or suburbs and offer truly original and unique products but the market “Digue” market is one of the busiest and offers almost everything by Malagasy crafts. After the visit, drive back to your hotel.
